Color, Again

Sat Aug 15, 2009, 10:31 AM
After months of feeling that only Schwarzweiss (B+W) can express reality for me, I've decided to reverse direction and embrace color again - a lot of it. HDR helps - a miracle of sandwiching two images to flesh out the "3-D" of light, color, and shade -- more the way we saw the world, when only film was available. Digital is all too convenient, and though fantastic for vacation snapshots, it's rather unfortunate within the realm of fine art, where so much meaning and depth can be lost by assuming that any digital picture, as it comes out of the camera, is a masterpiece.

That's such a fine image - showing the whole "landscape" behind you.
